A Thrilling Year for the STEM Hub – 2024 Highlights
19th Dec 2024
2024 has been an incredible year for the STEM Hub! From inspiring over 9,000 students across the Northern region through three dynamic STEMFest events to launching the first-ever STEMFest in the Yorkshire and Humber region, it’s been a year of inspiration and impact. The STEM Hub, delivered by RTC North, has played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between education and industry, empowering the next generation to explore their passion for STEM.
This year, we hosted over 40 events, ranging from our Large-scale STEMFest events to networking meetings, competitions, steering group meetings and assessment panels, to hands-on workshops and Career-Ready sessions. Each of these events showcased the importance of STEM education and brought exciting opportunities for students to engage with real-world applications of science, technology, engineering, and maths.
Additionally, partnering with CyberFirst to deliver cybersecurity events, we have highlighted the critical importance of technology education. This programme provided young people with exciting opportunities to delve into the fast-paced world of cybersecurity, sparking curiosity and ambition for careers in tech.
In total, we welcomed 820 new STEM Ambassadors across the Yorkshire & Humber and North East regions in 2024, all committed to inspiring the future of STEM and making a real difference in their communities.
As we wrap up 2024, we look forward to continuing this momentum in 2025 and beyond. Stay tuned – there’s so much more to come!
